Scotland – Personal Licence Renewals – fees confirmed

03 Sep
2018

Earlier this month, The Scottish Government issued the Personal Licence Holder Communications Document and our article on that can be found here.

The main outstanding question was the fee level for the renewal, which has now been confirmed at £50, as widely anticipated.

This statutory instrument confirming this is The Licensing (Fees) (Scotland) Amendment Regulations 2018, which has been laid before the Scottish Parliament and will come into force on 1 October 2018 after 17.00.

As a reminder, the deadline for renewing the first tranche of personal licences granted is 31 May 2019 so affected personal licence holders need to shortly start thinking about undertaking the Refresher course and thereafter pressing on with their renewal application.

There is an unanswered question in what is the fee for those who are on the ball and seek to submit their renewal during September 2018, or indeed on 1 October before 17.00?!

Law correct at the date of publication.
