Public Health (Wales) Bill: e-cigarette update

Earlier this year we reported on the Welsh government’s introduction of the Public Health (Wales) Bill part of which sought to ban the use of e-cigarrettes in enclosed and substantially enclosed public and work spaces.
It has now been reported than such plans have been reduced in scale so as to not include all public places but to target areas where there is a risk to children e.g. schools, public transport and eating places.
Pubs and restaurants can currently exercise their own discretion whether to allow customers to smoke e-cigarrettes inside but this discretion will be ended if the Bill goes forward - even in its revised form.
We will keep you updated.
Law correct at the date of publication.
