The 18th September is the first National Hospitality Day, the day has two purposes.

Firstly, to celebrate “the UK’s dynamic and resilient restaurants, hotels, pubs and bars, along with the suppliers that support them”.

But also, to support a number of charities which support the industry - Hospitality Action, Springboard, The Drink’s Trust and The Licensed Trade Charity, and have been invaluable to those working in the sector during the pandemic.

A number of operators have already signed up including Shepherd Neame, BrewDog and Azzurri Group-owned ASK as well as chefs Angela Hartnett and Tom Kerridge.

The event is supported by UKHospitality and Kate Nicholls has said :

“Our venues have been through hell over the past 18 months and the majority are still struggling to get back on their feet, even with restrictions now lifted. National Hospitality Day will rightly be a great celebration of everything we love about our sector, reminding customers of the intrinsic role hospitality plays in the social fabric of communities – and helping to raise money for our fantastic industry charities.”

More details as to the day and how to participate can be found at the National Hospitality Day website.
