As the hospitality sector prepares, with optimism (and hope), for a Great British Summer!, the Minister of State for Crime and Policing, Mr Kit Malthouse confirmed in a statement to the House of Commons that the Government will be relaxing the licensing hours in England and Wales to mark the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.

The relevant legislation (which will be published shortly) will extend the licensing hours for premises, from 11pm to 1am the following day, on 2 June, 3 June, and 4 June 2022. The extension will apply to premises in England and Wales which are licensed for the sale of alcohol for consumption on the premises, for the provision of late-night refreshment (only where there is also the sale of alcohol for consumption on the premises), and for the provision of regulated entertainment until 11pm.
