The Government have now published guidance on the Christmas period and ‘Coronavirus (COVID-19)’.

The document is wide ranging and covers a number of topics and scenarios and can be found here: "Guidance for the Christmas Period".

Clarification is given on the Visiting of bars, pubs and restaurants. From 2 December, the rules on who you can meet with in bars, pubs and restaurants will depend on your tier.

The rules might be different for indoor and outdoor hospitality settings. You can check the rules for your Tier, by entering your postcode here.

You may have seen on Social media, a number of posts questioning the rules for the traditional Christmas five day period mentioned in press conferences last week.

It is clear from the document that “Between 23 and 27 December, the rules on who you can meet in bars, pubs and restaurants will not change”.

Should you require licensing advice for your hospitality business, please contact a member of our team on 0114 266 8664.

Law correct at the date of publication.
