Gloucester Council have decided to adopt a BID (Business Improvement District) instead of a Late Night Levy following a ballot on the issue.

Yesterday at a full council meeting, they formally rejected the idea of a Late Night Levy, and the news has been welcomed by local operators alongside industry bodies.

You will have noted from previous news items, that a number of other councils have also rejected the Late Night Levy in favour of a BID, most recently Cheltenham Council. However Tower Hamlets in London have recently started a re-consultation on whether to adopt a LNL

We continue to advise our clients with representations to the councils, who consult on the implementation of a Late Night Levy.
