As previously reported, the Department for Digital, Culture, Media  & Sport (DDCMS) last year  undertook a consultation to explore a number of proposals relating to Society Lotteries including raising the annual limit of  sales from £10m to £100m a year and increasing the maximum prize from £400,000 to £500,000.

That consultation closed on 7th September 2018; on Tuesday (16th July) the DDCMS published there formal response.

In their response the DDCMS announced increases to large society lottery limits for the per draw sales limit to £5m (from £4m), the per draw prize limit to £500k (from £400k) and the annual sales limit to £50m(from £10m).

No change to existing per draw and annual sales limits were announced in respect of small society lotteries.

Law correct at the date of publication.
