Gambling - Commission Annual Report published

The Gambling Commission’s annual report and accounts for 2015/16 has been released.

in publishing the report the GC  commented that:

‘We have continued work to put consumers at the heart of our regulatory regime, and have built on the work we undertook last year.

It has been a challenging year for the Commission and the profile of gambling has been significantly raised both in the public eye, in Parliament and in the media. Acquisitions and mergers; the requirement on business to put betting the risks of gambling-related harm and money laundering at the heart of their business strategy; a number of high profile regulatory settlements; the continuing debate on Fixed Odds Betting Terminals; national and international focus on sports betting integrity and changes to the National Lottery – all of these have featured on heavily on the Commission’s agenda’.
