Covid 19 - What you need to know - Scotland Announce Road Map

2021

Nicola Sturgeon, the Scottish First Minister, has this afternoon (Tuesday 23rd February) announced Scotland’s road map for exiting Covid19 restrictions.

A phased return of Scottish schools will commence on Monday (1st March) with all Schools expected to reopen by 15th March along with the relaxations of the current restrictions regarding households mixing.

From 15th March four people from two households will be allowed to meet outdoors.

The current ‘Stay at home’ direction will hopefully be lifted by 5th April.

By the end of April the aim will be for the Country (Scotland) to move from the present Tier 4 status (with the exception of some island communities) back to Tier 3. This will allow businesses including hospitality to open subject to restrictions. A review of the Tier 3 measures will be undertaken with the potential for some measures being relaxed.

The First Minister said that from the last week of April, the Government would expect to see "phased but significant re-opening of the economy, including non-essential retail, hospitality and services like gyms and hairdressers".

More details are expected from the Scottish Government in mid-March including details of which order businesses may reopen.
