Covid 19 - What you need to know - England - Examples of enforcement action.

Following the curfew imposed in England by the government recently in addition to the tighter restrictions on hospitality sector we are already hearing of instances of enforcement around the country.

The Caterer reports that “A takeaway in east London was among those fined this weekend after staff handed a customer an order four minutes after the blanket 10pm curfew”

We understand that the customer ordered the food before 10pm but as it was delivered after the 10pm cut off time the premises were fined.

In a report from the BBC last Friday it was stated that a hotel was fined £10,000 for hosting a funeral where over 200 people attended. In this instance we understand that there had been previous warnings for breaches of the regulations.

We will keep you updated on developments but these examples clearly show enforcement action will follow breaches of the regulations.
