Covid 19 - What you need to know - Eat out, to help out - Opens for registrations

We have previously reported on the “Eat out, to help out” scheme.

The scheme is now officially open and is accepting registrations. Once registered a business must wait for 7 days before submitting claims; once submitted the Government has promised those claims will be processed within 5 working days.

Businesses interested in submitting claims from day 1 of the scheme (3rd August) will therefore wish to register early.

To register, you will need:

• a Government Gateway ID and password for your business (if you do not have one, you can create one when you register)
• the name and address of each establishment to be registered, unless you are registering more than 25
• the UK bank account number and sort code for the business
• the address on your bank account for the business
