CIA in Warrington up for review

CIA’s come and go, and since the end of the lockdown period, a number of Cumulative Impact Areas(CIA) have disappeared when the evidence to support their continuation no longer exists.

Warrington Council, on behalf of its Licensing Authority, have confirmed that following a review of the current assessment (from December 2022) and the latest evidence, there is an opinion that there is no longer a requirement for the CIA covering the Bridge Street area.

This has triggered a consultation which is currently open, and views can be emailed to cexlicensing@warrington.gov.uk.

In view of the current economic pressures, responses are needed to the consultation to allow freedom of trade for operators. Let's hope more licensing authorities look at the actual impact and need for CIA’s in these times of economic pressure.
