BEIS consultation on National Minimum Wage and Publication of the Good Work Plan

By

A new consultation by BEIS (the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy) to make National Minimum Wage rules more flexible has been launched. In addition, the Good Work Plan, which sets out the Government’s vision for the UK labour market, implementing recommendations from the Taylor Review of Modern Working Practices has also been published.

Of particular note in the consultation, are Salary sacrifice schemes (and their impact on the National Minimum Wage) which will interest  employees.

For business owners, many have raised concerns over the restrictiveness of the current National Minimum Wage Conditions and how they may unfairly penalise responsible companies.

The Consultation closes at 11:45pm on the 1st March 2019. A link to the Consultation is available here.

Law correct at the date of publication.
