Bank Notes with King Charles III to enter circulation

From 5^th June 2024 banknotes carrying the portrait of King Charles III will be issued.

He will appear on all the existing designs for the current four banknotes (£5, £10, £20 and £50) – with no other changes being made

Polymer banknotes featuring the portrait of Her late Majesty Queen Elizabeth II will continue to remain legal tender and will co-circulate.

These new banknotes will only be printed to replace old and worn banknotes, so as not to increase the levels of cash in circulation.
