John Gaunt and Partners and me…
I joined the firm in January 2007 having practised in the licensing field for several years in the North East. I trained with a Civil Litigation practice before specialising in licensing.
At John Gaunts my role is to assist clients with a full range of licensing applications. In addition to contested applications for new licences and variations of the same, I have represented clients in review proceedings and appeals in the Magistrates’ Court.
I am also a member of the gambling team, offering advice to the firm’s gaming clients. I am retained by a national poker league to offer advice on compliance with the Gambling Act 2005 and have made representations to the Gambling Commission regarding interpretation of the Act and its exemption.
When Personal Licence applications and Temporary Event Notices become contested I often get involved.
I am a BIIAB approved trainer for the NCPLH and NCLP courses. I regularly present to licensing organisations regarding developments in the field of Licensing and Gaming.
