Katharine Redford - Partner
John Gaunt and Partners and me…
Along with John Gaunt I was a founding partner of John Gaunt & Partners at the tender age of 27.
I currently specialise in organising, managing and executing large scale bespoke projects on behalf of the firm and its clients. These projects range from issues arising from the implementation of relevant legislation such as the Licensing Act 2003, Licensing (Scotland) Act 2005 and the Smoke-free premises regulations. I manage the firm's team of paralegals and the day to day applications handled by the team.
I am now pioneering the firm's expansion into Scotland following the introduction of the new legislation. I am retained by leading national operators to advise on the ramifications for their premises in Scotland. The firm now offers a complete package for operators of Scottish premises from Premises Licences to Personal Licences and training.
Often invited as a guest at operations meetings with the firm's leading clients I provide valuable updates and training to industry leaders.

My greatest achievement is…
I was responsible for implementation of our current case management system, which was bought in 2004 to handle the influx of applications due to licensing reform. It is now setup to maintain a comprehensive database of our existing clients and enables us to lodge applications efficiently and error free. I continue to oversee its development to keep pace with technology and improve our service to clients.
Along side our case management system is our firm's extranet service providing a 'live' view of projects for the client together with access to core documents, such as the Premises Licence, 24hrs a day, via a secure internet login.
