CRAIG BURMAN has been a Partner of the firm since February 2006. Craig qualified and commenced his legal career in New Zealand in 1992, before coming to this country in 2001 and re-qualifying as a UK solicitor. Joining the firm as a solicitor in June 2002, with a background in commercial and civil litigation, New Zealand liquor licensing, criminal and advocacy work, Craig’s practice involves all aspects of licensing, including the creation of bespoke applications for unusual premises.

During the licensing reform period in 2005 Craig’s specialist area was the re-licensing of individual premises including take-away and food outlets, restaurants, sports stadia and leisure centres, holiday parks, supermarkets, restaurants houses and off licences.

Craig has extensive advocacy experience and regularly appears before Council Committees and Magistrates Courts on variety of licensing related applications and appeals. He also has experience in training and is a presenter of the BIIAB NCPLH course for Personal Licence Holders

When Craig is not at work he can usually be found on the M1 making his daily journey from Leeds, or up a ladder with more DIY projects on the go than is good for his health. Relief from DIY takes the form of whirlwind budget European city breaks.

Kirsty Jackson assists Craig, they can be reached on 0114 2296703.
