1) November 2004 saw the publication of the Government's Consultation Paper on proposed fee levels under the Licensing Act 2003.

Essentially the proposal is for the fee for a Personal Licence to be set initially at £37.00 and that the fees payable for applications for Premises Licences variations and conversion of the existing Licences and conversion/variation should be graduated using five bands based on Non-Domestic Rateable Value, as below. This table also shows the charges which will be payable to maintain Licences for the future.



The proposal is that fee rates will be reviewed on a two yearly basis.

A full range of other fees is provided (see page ten) of the Draft Regulations which are available on the DCMS website. Of particular interest will be the annual fee payable by a freeholder or equivalent to register their interest in any premises - £21.00.
