Delays to Gambling Act 2005
The Government have recently put back the timetable for advanced transitional applications under the Gambling Act 2005. The start date for any advanced applications was originally listed as 31st January 2007. The Department of Media, Culture and Sport have announced that this date has been revised to 30th April 2007.

One matter which is still causing vexation to practitioners and wide divergence in practice across the country is the question of who is entitled to be a respondent when an applicant appeals to a magistrates court against the decision of a licensing authority.
LICENSING ACT 2003 – 6 MONTHS ON
The Licensing Act 2003 introduced wholesale changes to the liquor and entertainment licensing regime operating throughout England and Wales. It came into force on 24 th November 2005, some six months ago.
